The Ozark-Dale County Humane Society Shelter was established in October of 2004 by a small group of volunteers. The main goal of the shelter was to rescue pets from a local municipal facility that euthanized all animals after seven days using a gas chamber. Fortunately, the gas chamber was removed in 2007. However, the facility still puts a seven day death sentence on all animals and then they are euthanized by lethal injection. We are a non-profit organization and depend solely on donations. All proceeds are used for the health and welfare of our animals.

Not only great for the animals, but a great place to volunteer! Great people all the way around. Looking for a place to help? Call them! You won't be disappointed. I love the work I do with and for the humane society!

Excellent facility - clean. Love that they have a volunteer program, too.
